preserve_mode: every caller rewrites a file the consumer's project already carries (project.pbxproj, Info.plist, Project.swift), so bumping the version must not change what those files ARE. Pinning 0o600 -- the mode this helper's older mkstemp-based body happened to leave -- made them owner-only on the first release.
